McCready Telford Foundation

The McCready Telford Foundation was established in 2005 as a 501.(c) 3 foundation in support of the goals of McCready Manor and Telford Terrace. Contributions to the Foundation are tax deductible (to the fullest extent of the law) and may be made to the Tree of Life, the Good Samaritan Fund, specific projects, capital needs or to build the endowment to insure the future.

Many contributions are given in memory of a loved one or to honor a relative or friend. Planned gifts (bequests, gifts of insurance etc.) are also encouraged and appreciated.

The Foundation Board and staff strive to match the philanthropic desires of the donors to the needs of McCready Manor and Telford Terrace, and to administer gifts in an ethical and accountable manner. The Foundation Office is located on the second floor of McCready Manor.

Attention IRA Account Holders

This is a reminder to those with IRA’s (Individual Retirement Accounts) with annual required minimum distributions for those age 70 ½ years and older. For this year, the U.S. Congress has authorized individual donors to make tax-free contributions directly to a charitable organization.

For example, one of our St. Andrews Place residents has given $5,000 directly from the individual’s IRA to the McCready Telford Foundation. This avoided taxes on the individual’s IRA withdrawal and excluded the total amount from this year’s taxable income.

There are two critical points to remember:

The maximum donation amount cannot exceed the individual’s required minimum withdrawal as set by the IRS. (However, the donation may be all or part of the required minimum withdrawal.)
The donation must be transferred directly from the donor’s IRA brokerage or bank account to the McCready Telford Foundation.
